Thanks to a generous £5,000 award from Awards for All, the Footprint Trust has been able to upgrade the range and number of tools that we can offer community groups for loan.

There are now more spades, more loppers, more bowsaws, more hammers, more slashers, shears and rakes than ever before!  If you are planning a community event but don't have the necessary tools, give Ray or Simon a call.

Groups to benefit include the Green Gym and Pond Pond Wardens, as well as schools, residents associations, village groups and work parties.  Basically, any group that undertakes conservation work and needs to use some tools can benefit.

The Tool Shed has been created and funded to help the community.  Because tools are expensive, it is unlikely that many groups can afford to buy a decent selection, so Ray and Simon decided to do it for you!  It has meant that there is now the opportunity for groups to undertake even more good work, and it gives you the perfect reason to join in!

If you are clearing out your shed at home, and would like to make a donation to our store, please get in touch!  We gladly accept good quality items, but ask you to remember that if they are not suitable we reserve the right to donate them to any other charity that we feel would benefit from them (including 'Tools for self-reliance').

Terms and Conditions (you knew there had to be some!)

A copy of the groups Public Liability Insurance must be given to the Footprint Trust before any equipment is taken.

Those borrowing the tools and equipment should note that we do not insure them or your staff or volunteers whilst you are using them.  We accept no liability for any accidents or damage caused whilst the tools are outside of our care. We suggest that ay group involved in practical activities has public liability, theft and personal accident insurance cover.  This can be obtained through BTCV insurers and from other companies.

You are responsible for the tools and equipment at all times from when the tools leave the 'Tool Shed' to being returned to the Footprint Trust, and replaced.

You are responsible for the correct usage and storage of the tools.

The tools most be returned on the agreed time.  Failure to do this will result in the group being charged £100 per day (including weekends) for every overdue day.  If you have a genuine reason for not returning the tools by the agreed date, please contact the office for alternative arrangements.
